WHY ARE WE SO SUCCESSFUL?

SPOTLIGHT DISCOS cater for all ages and tastes of music. They always carry a complete range of musical styles. If you have any particular requests, they will be happy to include them. Should you wish your party to feature just one type of music or theme, please let us know and we will be happy to arrange it for you. ALL OF OUR D.J'S HAVE A MINIMUM OF EIGHT YEARS EXPERIENCE.

THERE ARE 4 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS YOU MUST ASK WHEN BOOKING DISCOS:-

CAN I SPEAK TO THE ACTUAL D.J. WHO WILL BE ATTENDING MY FUNCTION PRIOR TO THE EVENT?

We believe this is essential. The entertainment is the thing that will make or break your whole day as it is the deciding factor as to whether your guests regard your function as a success or failure. It is not the food, clothes or photos they remember but whether they had a good time or not and that is down to the entertainment you book. Unless you have spoken to the D.J. how do you know whether or not some teenager who cannot string two words together is going to walk in? Most people will have specific requirements for their function which they will wish to discuss. Initially we ask that these be put in writing and forwarded to us so that we can allocate you the most suitable D.J. for your function. Then, at the start of the week leading up to the function, your D.J. will telephone you, if you wish, to discuss the evening with you.

DO YOU HAVE A WRITTEN GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN IF YOUR D.J. IS UNAVAILABLE ON THE DAY DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES?

Even the most reliable of people can be ill or suffer an equipment or transport breakdown or have a sudden family crisis that prevents them from fulfilling their commitment to you. THESE THINGS ARE OUTSIDE ANYBODY'S CONTROL - NO MATTER HOW RELIABLE A PERSON IS - AND DON'T JUST HAPPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE. We always keep D.J's free so that, if something does happen to the person we have booked for you, there is always someone just as good standing by. Some other companies may tell you not to worry as they have plenty of discos. What they will not tell you is that, once they leave to do their own disco, there is only an answer-phone on - no good to you if their D.J. breaks down during the evening. Uniquely, we are available to speak to you personally on either our office or mobile number until the last function has ended for your complete peace of mind and security. THIS SERVICE IS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY TO CLIENTS WHO HAVE PRE-BOOKED THEIR DISCO WITH US AND WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT BOOKINGS ON THE DAY FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN LET DOWN BY OTHER SUPPLIERS.

DO YOU HAVE A CURRENT HEALTH AND SAFETY (PAT) CERTIFICATE AND PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE?

All of our D.J's have full Public Liability Insurance and PAT-tested equipment.    Many venues will insist on seeing the relevant documentation from the disco you have booked nearer to the date of your function but many do not bother to comply with these regulations which can lead to you having a last-minute panic trying to book someone who has.

HOW LONG DO YOU TAKE TO SET UP THE EQUIPMENT?

We have recently met two different D.J's at Wedding Fairs who have told us - but not their prospective clients - that they take 90 minutes to two hours to set up their equipment. Just imagine that you have booked them to play for a 4-hour period and the wedding runs an hour or more late - as all weddings can. You are going to be left with a very short evening! They may offer to set up the equipment prior to your arrival but many venues do not have room for this whilst all the tables are set up for the wedding breakfast and many clients do not like staring at a lot of electrical equipment whilst they dine. Our D.J's take approximately 30 - 45 minutes to set up depending on the size of the rig. This is the same length of time that most venues take to turn the room around for the evening reception and our D.J's will work in unison with the catering staff to ensure that the operation runs smoothly. You and your guests will welcome this break to take the chance to talk to other guests with whom they were not seated. Of course, if you prefer and space allows, our D.J's will set up prior to your arrival, play background music during the wedding breakfast and provide a microphone for the speeches.

Our D.J's will dress to your requirements and are totally professional. Their personality will encourage your guests to get into the party mood and will maintain the atmosphere throughout the evening unless, of course, you want the music to be mainly background. You will find them polite and helpful. We fully understand that the sound level throughout the party is important, particularly at parties where the guests are of an older age group. To enable guests to converse without having to shout, our D.J's will play at the volume you require
